Aluminum auto body sheet price
Aluminum auto body sheet price ranges between $2200 to $3000 per metric ton. The biggest factor influencing the price is alloy of the sheet, like 5182, 5083, 5754, 6061, 6111 etc. These fall on 5xxx and 6xxx series. Series and alloys are a big factor influencing the price of aluminum auto body sheets. The 5xxx aluminium sheets have the strongest corrosion resistance to acid and alkali corrosion among the 8 aluminum plate series. They have high plasticity, good processing performance, and can be adapted to various processing methods such as bending, stamping, and stretching. 3. Good thermal conductivity. The 5 series aluminum plate has excellent thermal conductivity and is the best material for making equipment casings and radiators. In addition, the sheets have strong resistance to pressure, and the strength can be improved by further processing. 6000 aluminium sheets are even better in hardness and processing ability. They are the best extruded alloys, though the corrosion resistance is poorer.
In addition to alloys, specifications influence the price of an auto aluminum sheet, too. Mainstream thicknesses of the sheet ranges from 0.3mm to 4.0mm, and width 400mm to 2200mm. If you need special specifications, the price would be higher.
Other factors influencing the price of an aluminum auto body sheet include aluminum ingot price, delivery cost, manufacturing cost and payment terms. As known to all, prices of all aluminum sheet products fluctuates with the price of aluminium ingot. Delivery cost is relatively stable, but it’s based on the distance and type of the journey. Shipping costs less than air flights, and mainland truck delivery costs more than shipping, too. Manufacturing cost of a supplier has a lot to do with its brand, experience and aluminium sheet quality. Generally the higher the cost, the better the quality. Payment terms are important, too. If you choose TT, the price can be lower, but if you choose D/P, the price might be higher.
