6101 aluminum plate

6101 aluminum plate is an Al-Mg-Si series alloy, which is a high-strength conductive material. As the most widely used electrical alloy, 6101 aluminum sheet has 55% IACS guarantee, good corrosion resistance and weldability, and is used for processing high-strength busbar. It contains 0.3%~0.5% Mg and 0.4%~0.7% Si. Since the solubility of M92 Si in the 6101 aluminium alloy increases with the increase in temperature, the strength of the 6101 conductive aluminium for busbar can be improved by solution treatment and artificial aging without affecting its good electrical conductivity. 6101 serves as a high-strength aluminum material for buses, electrical conductors and radiator materials, bus conductors, radiator materials, etc.

Why is 6101 aluminium coil sheet applied to busbars?

1. The tensile strength ratio of 6101 alloy is 1.5 times that of copper wire, and its quality is only one-half of copper wire. The span of overhead wire of a busbar can be significantly widened.

2. The hardness of 6101 alloy is high, and the wire is less likely to be damaged during installation of basbars. That’s why 6101 aluminum alloy serves as a typical material for busbar conductor for new energy electric vehicles and super charging piles.

3. Without a steel core, the connection of wires is much simpler. The short-circuit current has a much smaller effect on the properties of 6101 alloy than that of pure aluminum. Its vibration fatigue strength is 50% higher than that of 1050A, and its short-circuit current stability is second only to copper.
