6101 Aluminum Sheet for Electric Car

If the weight of a pure electric vehicle is reduced by 10kg, the driving range can be increased by 2.5km. In addition to strengthening the battery and drive system, improving the driving range of electric vehicles is also inseparable from the degree of lightweight body.

The most obvious feature of lightweight body is the choice of materials. At present, the lightweight materials used in new energy vehicles mainly include high-strength steel, aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy, and carbon fiber. By 2030, the amount of aluminum used by new energy vehicles can reach 9 million tons.

Compared with steel, aluminum alloy has a high yield ratio and low elongation, which makes it much more difficult to process aluminum alloy cold deformation than steel, and aluminum is easy to rebound.

Aluminum has a low elastic modulus, about 70 GPa, and general alloy steel is about 200 GPa, which is 3 times that of aluminum. Aluminum is less resistant to impact. But all these can be improved by other means. Many new alloys and improved alloys have been used for making different parts of the electric cars.

6101 aluminum sheet can be used for high-strength conductive materials. It is of 55%IACS and has good corrosion resistance and weldability, which is used for processing high-strength bus conductors. 6101 aluminum is often used in high-strength aluminum materials for buses, electric conductors and radiator materials, bus conductors, etc.

6061 aluminum alloy has good strength and toughness, excellent machining performance, corrosion resistance and ideal anodizing effect after treatment and pre-stretching. It is also applicable for various welding methods.

In addition to 6101 aluminum, we also have other 6xxx automotive aluminum sheets like 6061, 6016, 6014 aluminum coil, etc. Welcome to leave message below to inquire what you need.
