What Are Aluminum 6101 6061 Properties

6000 series aluminum alloys are age-strengthening alloys, such as 6061, 6056, 6082, 6013, 6063, etc. They have the characteristics of low density, medium strength, good weldability and formability, and are widely used in industries such as aerospace, transportation, construction and machinery manufacturing. In order to obtain high strength, T6 treatment is often performed in industry.

6101 aluminum is a low-alloyed Al-Mg-Si conductive aluminum alloy. Due to aluminum 6101 properties,this type of alloy is widely used in the field of electrical conduction due to its high specific strength, good conductivity, corrosion resistance and formability. Through appropriate heat treatment process, 6101 aluminum alloy can obtain higher strength and hardness, suitable for applications requiring higher strength.

6101 aluminum alloy wire has medium strength and high conductivity, and can be used for long-distance transmission lines. Compared with traditional steel core aluminum alloy stranded wire (ACSR), the all-aluminum alloy stranded wire (AAAC) twisted by a single Al-Mg-Si alloy wire can well avoid electrical corrosion, improve transmission efficiency and reduce the maintenance cost of transmission lines.

6061 aluminum alloy has great advantages in making automobile body sheet parts. Pre-stretching after solid solution can also give full play to the paint baking effect of 6061 body sheet, and it can be the peak period of this performance in a short time. Studies have shown that the natural effect of 6061 aluminum alloy after pre-stretching can obtain good comprehensive 6061 properties.

6061-O aluminum sheet has good extrusion formability, and the hardness and strength of the finished product after quenching are high, which meets the requirements of lightweight and high strength of high-end wheel hubs. After special treatment (T6), 6061 alloy reaches medium strength, which is higher than 5 series alloy. Moderate strength is very suitable for the automobile manufacturing industry.

The most commonly used car fenders are 6061 aluminum plates, which have good mechanical properties, and their density is only 1/3 of that of steel, and their machining performance is 4.5 times that of iron. 6061 aluminum alloy car fenders neither increase the weight of the vehicle nor damage the car.
