5182 and Almg3 Material Properties

The main parts of the car body (four doors, two covers, fenders) are aluminum alloy sheets, which has become the most promising market for lightweight cars. The alloy types involved in the body panels of Chinese cars include 6016, 6022, 6111, 6181, 5754, 5182 and 5052. Among them, the inner body panels are basically made of 5182 alloy and 6181A alloy, while the outer body panels are mainly made of 6016, 6111 and 6022 alloy.

Due to its high strength and good formability, Al5182 is particularly suitable for automobile body panels, roof panels, hoods and other parts. 5182 aluminum alloy can be heat treated in O, H32, H34 and other states. The hardness of 5182 aluminum alloy is slightly higher than that of other ordinary aluminum alloys, about 60~70HB. The preferred aluminum alloy material for complex deep-drawn inner panels of automobiles is 5182-O state thin sheet.

5182 aluiminum belongs to Al-Mg-Si alloy, which has a wide range of applications, good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, good cold workability, and medium strength. The main alloying element of 5182 alloy is magnesium, and a small amount of silicon is added, so the welding performance of 5182 aluminum plate is very good by gas welding, argon arc welding, spot welding and roll welding.

5754 aluminum plate belongs to aluminum-magnesium alloy, which has the characteristics of medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and easy processing and forming. It is widely used in the production of automobile door inner panels, structural parts, and trunk covers.

5754 aluminum plate belongs to Almg3 series, and the magnesium alloy content is higher than 5052 aluminum plate, which is higher than 5052 aluminum plate. 5754 aluminum plate is a medium-strength aluminum alloy plate with a magnesium alloy content of 2.6-3.6.

As for almg3 material properties, it has good anti-rust and corrosion resistance, no color difference on the anodized surface, excellent processing performance, excellent corrosion resistance, high fatigue strength, high weldability and medium static strength.
